Unfortunately, there were no local papers. The nearest town was of 3000 people, 30+ miles away. The only paper I remember seeing only a few times a year was the Milwaukee Journal from 200 miles away. I'm sure there were and are a lot of others, but I never saw any. We rode a bus 8 miles to school in the nearest town of 400 people, White Lake. I'll try to find something via the internet. I'm just so leery of being disappointed.
