OT RE: "i think a male is perfectly capable of respresenting the interests of women, just as i think a female is capable of representing the interests of men"

How come the Supreme Court didn't open the women's bathroom in the morning unlike the men's bathroom that was open, until there were two women justices?

Do you think the paralegal women working in the court offices appreciated having the perspective of two women who also shared the need to go to the bathroom in the morning and couldn't hold it? (I wonder if guys can hold off going to the bathroom longer? Is it dependent upon the number of kids one has? Hm... I wonder if a guy has that perspective?)

There's truly nothing sinister in having full representation. Diversity can bring critical awareness, and thus critical value of information others may lack.

RE: "i have no interest in carrying on a pm discussion with you in light of your apparent cognitive dissonance re treatment of muslim women relative to western democracy"

I was sticking to the point. We were talking about women leaders. We have a serious problem in this country about women leaders (that some other countries do not have). [ Which is not to dismiss your very valuable points about treatment of muslim women elsewhere at the lower levels. ] We are discussing women leadership. Do you see how we have a problem with women leadership in this country? The statistics speak quite loudly.

RE: "not sure what parallel universe you are living in"

I don't think we need to get snide, we can be polite.

Possibly I reside in a mathematical one (I work in hightech.) Please do not be offended I remained focused on the topic of women leadership, I certainly wasn't invalidating your other point (which was valid).

I do hope you can see the problem with having nearly no women on the Superior Court. It's a problem. What famous person said people should be represented?

The answer could actually be to at least open our eyes to how many Muslim countries elect women Presidents - their acceptance of women leaders in govt is something we could learn from as a country. There's nothing wrong with borrowing that one part (women leadership in govt) which is better than us.

If you would like to reply, you are invited to do so by PM out of respect for other the readers on this thread. I enjoy discussing topics with people that view things differently.
