IMO, a lot of people in the US don't vote because they see a Tweedledum or Tweedledee choice, both of whom really work for different interest groups and corporations, and just don't care.

I wish we had a parlimentary form of government here, with many parties and governments formed by coalitions of parties. Then, you could vote your issues and feel like you had a little clout without having to completely compromise your values. Americans have been brainwashed into thinking we have the best implementation of democracy here. After watching democracy work around the world, I no longer agree.
