On Iraq, just think WHO WON? and FOLLOW THE MONEY

First, who lost?

The American tax-payer, our military readiness and our reputation in the world. Also losing would be other countries wanting Iraqi oil contracts. Texas and BP got them all.

Who won?

- Bush was able to use this fabricated war to swipe the 2002 elections, take back the senate (by smearing Max Cleland for one thing) and thereby avoiding subpoena powers in Dem hands. This is huge. It meant that they would operate illegally in all kinds of ways without fear of being impeached. Until Terri Schiavo when everything flipped around on them politically.

- Halliburton won HUGE, the biggest winner of all. A nobid contract and all kinds of gouging and abuses, but they get bonuses not fired.

- Arms manufacturers won very big, as did big oil because part of the price we're now paying is gouging based on the Iraq situation. If there were peace in Iraq oil prices would plummet. Bushie companies like Carlyle Group are making money hand over fist on the Iraq War.

- Israeli Zionists win. Maybe. AT least in theory Saddam is more dangerous than whatever replaces him. But maybe not.
