Roberts is a TRIAL ATTORNEY. Why isn't he despised by the far right's unethical, immoral, freakshow? The speculation is that, although Roberts appears to be middle road conservative, he may actually be far to the right and will join Scalia/Thomas (two bodies, one mind) over at the edge. In addition, Rehnquist will resign or die and Bush will then appoint a far, far, far right freak for Chief Justice. This isn't just about fake religion or civil liberties, it's about the power of the corporation to harm consumers and the country without fear of punishment.
