I am pretty sure the father is asking that the fetus be saved. However, as I understand your position it is this: If there were no first of kin (to the mother) advocates for the fetus, you would support ending the mother's life without delivery of the baby.

"Naturally, it should not be at the expense of total strangers unless the country has a medicare program which includes this..."

The radio program estimated the medical costs to be in the 1 million dollar range.
