"It is not human DNA that we value. It is the the heart and the mind--sentience, awareness, and compassion." hmmmm. Can you prove the existence of these 'valued' entities? Can you measure their presence, or level of presence with accuracy? Some people would call them elements or evidence of a personhood, and each is as materially provable as the other. And so, we do not advance the discussion without allowing the presumption of their existence.
