I chuck this under I-acknowledge-rights-of-others-only-if-I-don't-give-up-mine. It is a common perspective to our species. For all the reasons you mentioned, I agree that the woman has much greater say in it than the man. But I am not willing to say she has the only say (which is implied in your statement). In cases of dispute the court should be the arbiter that considers all the points you mentioned...on the other hand, there is something to be said about taking responsibility and putting up with the hang over after a night of partying. I don't believe the whole affair should be reduced to taking two pills in a morning a month later. Interestingly enough, many women feel that if they choose to keep the baby the man has to pay for all the child care and "take responsibility", despite the long term consequences for him (what if he is not at a point in his life that he wants a child?
