I know you aren't accusing me of that- since you know I live with an entire case of dictionaries, thesauruses, and etymology books next to me. I love words, and believe that the careless use of them can cause not only confusion, but pain. Our words connect us, are our ultimate weapon against alienation. Knowing how someone defines a word is essential before we can even begin to hope to understand them. This particular discussion had about been exhausted after an entire day and it was fairly clear how each individual interpreted the word protest or terrorism. You seemed to sum it up nicely for the purposes of discussion on this thread- if there were to be one. Maybe the discussion on the words themselves WAS the point. For me, it had reached a sort of repetitive, self-defeating level. Hmph. Last time I throw a compliment your way.
