That is what is happening. Karl Rove is recognized for being the political genius that he is. For that the media thinks he needs to become a casualty so the media can proceed to defeat the President's agenda. They thought they found a way to get Rove.

Wrong Mr. Rose-Colored Glasses. Rove may have breeched his security clearance and broken various laws. If a grand jury finds out this is indeed the case, he deserves to be indicted like any other American who broke the law should be, and then tried by a jury of his peers as our Constitution says he should. I think Rove deserves due process like anyone else, but if he broke the law he should also be punished like anyone else. This is not media driven (the media are an establishement organ, not particularly liberal). This is driven by the fact that it is a very serious situation if one of the highest people in the White House may have broken their security clearance and broken the law. I'm sure you'd want one of Clinton's aides to be prosecuted under similiar circumstances, as would I. Fairness is important.

Sure, Clinton deserved to be disbarred for perjuring himself. I can not argue with that, as that is applying the law fairly and evenly. What I can argue with is that he should not have been impeached for such a personal and minor offense. I do not think it rose to the level of an impeachable offense. It was an politically motivated abuse of Congressional power.
