Yes good for the kids from better neighbourhoods... sounds like a two tiered health system scenario ... no ? I know it is the way is but on my socialistic side I think we should have great public education... it is simply in everyone's best interest...

So we are dumbing down the entire system to the level of the slowest child and the poorest child? Teacher's are hugely socialist, but when it comes to their over blown paycheques they consistently hold the children hostage. It is time to rethink the school system and what exactly we want it to do. Teachers should be paid a base rate, and then every child should be tested every year on the same province wide exams, and the teachers paid a bonus based on the scores of their kids. The teachers producing the best and brightest children would be the best paid. Classes should be available online, so that students who are not in school can learn wherever they are. If they are suspended they can take their class online, or sick or whatever.

WHEN/IF we get the present schools all up to date, in perfect repair, and every library filled with books, with not one portable school room in the province, and breakfast and lunch programs in every school for every student, we can talk about pools for schools. But I think the pools should be in community centers controlled by City Council and paid for by the school system. If they are indoor community pools every school can be slotted in for so many hours a month, and lessons or public swimming can be seven days a week 18 hours a day.......
