I agree that Clinton deserved to be disbarred for his crime. But, the sentance and punishment metted out for a crime is proportional to the crime committed in our society. Lying is not grounds for impeachment. Hell, every President in the modern era has lied about something or other, history usually reveals their lies in memoirs and other sources. Should Clinton have been impeached for getting caught lying?

I don't think impeachment was an appropriate punishment in that case. He lied about a personal matter. If he had lied and put the nation at risk, then perhaps impeachment would be appropriate.

BTW, some think Bush deserves impeachment for the dubious way he led us into war with Iraq in 2003. I know one thing, and many Presidents have abused this, the Constitution clearly left the power to take the nation to war with Congress, via a Declaration of War. Bush did not follow that Constitutional provision in 2003, no matter what flim-flam law Congressed passed authorizing the use of force. This was not a simple military action, this was an all-out war.
