We have the Executive Costco membership, with the 2% refund we spend enough to more than pay for the membership fee. Last year using Costco for refi I was offered 1/8% less than anybody else plus we got a $300 cash card at the end. We also use them for buying new cars, check printing, a discount on MCI phone service, etc., etc., etc. I am shopping for a minivan, buying through Costco dealer but double checking the price through Consumer Reports.
