"The story choice of the big five liberal TV media seems to be slanted to hurt Republicans."

"I can understand how it may feel this way to republicans. My point is that even while attacking republicans, the media does a horrible job of actually covering stories that are important to liberals or populists. There their sin is usually one of "omission""

Perhaps this is because they are working to hard to hurt Republicans. As much as Walter Cronkite has done to place himself in the Democrat partisan camp in the last few years, he earned the trust of the nation by putting the facts of stories out instead of spin. He often lead the news cycle. Now all of the Big Five liberal TV media seem content to fall in line with whatever the NYTimes has on the front page.

"It was 51.07% to 48.59%, A difference of 2.48%"

That was considerably closer than the House count. Thanks for correcting me.

""No person with an ounce of skepticism believes any study says more than it does. In retrospect, I admit to reading more into the voting preference studies than they actually say."

I wish this were true. If it were then there wouldn't be people on this thread sounding off about the huge liberal bias of the media. I agree that in the major cities the media is slanted toward the left. That's because their audience is also slanted toward the left. And remember my point that the media is also failing the left in that it fails to cover many issues that are important to progressives. So they are failing both sides. Republicans are not the only victims."

Who says that all posters have skepticism. I have fallen into the trap wanting to believe something badly enough to not check the facts. Everyone has. The nature of SI and other BBs is that people post fast enough that they sometimes let their enthusiasm get ahead of their skepticism.

"Your labeling idea is at least maybe a little more honest representation of how things are covered. I wonder if lexusnexus covers for example the local papers in lawrence, Kansas?"
