Thanks for the post. Very interesting. IMO the Wilsons are like a girl hitting a boy and then running to the teacher after getting hit back. They perpetrated a partisan attack, and then after the chips fell wanted to be protected. Those who live in glass house should avoid casting the first stone. If Joe Wilson had not tried to trade his lies for a position of political prominence none of the neighbors would have repeated to journalists that she often bragged of being a CIA agent. There used to be a cartoon where a dog was chained up, and the cat drew a line on the ground just out of reach his chain and taunted the dog. Then he would chase the cat, barking and snapping until the chain stopped him. The Wilsons remind me of the cat. Eventually the dog got smart and erased the line, drawing a newer one closer. "we are pleased that the U.S. Department of Justice is conducting an investigation and that the U.S. Attorney General has recused himself," What a refreshing difference from the Clinton Whitehouse with AG Reno stopping everything she could. "Intelligence officers should not be used as political footballs." What if they volunteer for the role? Brag about your importance to everyone you know; lie; lie some more; husband makes himself public figure; he lies some more; etc. "to prevent terrorist attacks against Americans at home and abroad." Let’s wrap ourselves in the flag when it is convenient. The author keeps using we, but only one person signed it. Maybe it is a split personality thing. "we ask you to please stand up for every man and woman who works for the U.S. intelligence community and help protect their ability to live their cover." The country cannot do for the Wilsons what the Wilsons will not help the country do for them. If your wife is trying to protect her covert status, you don't publish lies in the NYTimes and expect nothing to happen.
