The idea that bond yields will remain extremely low (and negative in real terms when accurate inflation numbers are used) for many years is one such notion

i agree completely. i think what you will also find, looking at the historical record, is that reality can snap back with a vengeance, so that just a few short years from now, people will wonder about today's bond bulls: What were they thinking?
