Even if you where right about $50bil making mass transit almost terror proof -


Imagine, if you will, that mass transit consisted of a lot of driverless cars controlled by networked computers. You could order up your own car for one fee, or step into the common cars for another. The cars could be like subway cars only running in singles, not trains. They could be on tracks, or just follow a buried cable in the roadways.

Any terrorist attack would affect far fewer people. The "terror" level would be less, it will never be zero. In the mean time your car could take you from point A to point B without making a lot of intermediate stops.

The technology could mean more U.S. jobs.
