I doubt it.
If they do and people bitch, the flaws of this repeg may become obvious to the administration.

Your current account problem ignores

1) falling demand
2) possibility of US halting war in Iraq saving a cool $100M a year once Bush is thrown out
3) Other nations (Japan, UK, Europe) not being forced in to competitive printing as well
4) US savings at 0% - obviously unsustainable - What happens if spending drops and consumers save say a mere 3% a year (far below the average I might add)
