As usual great insight JJ. There are a lot of candidates. How do the candidates stand on fp issues? Is the fact that merkel is a conservative make her more supportive of American policy or do they all have to appease the pacifist and anti-bush electorate? IMO German people need a big dose of supply side and a reality check on fp. Doesnt mean they have to become american toadies but i feel they need to have a more real view of the world situation. As the Brits are finding out, appeasement or passivity in the face of terror cant work. Yes the world might be more dangerous because of iraq but terror was a fact of life long before iraq. Mike
