tejek,

re:I am simply surprised that with women making up 50% of the population, anyone can contend that one or two SC justice out of nine is an acceptable number for women justices.

I never said it was right, I keep including in parens (equal) and the like and your skip that part and then judge me for it. I said I believe given the pool the court will probably reflect the pool - my opinion is that it's OK, at least it's not skewed against the available pool which would be an obvious bias. <my opinion> I want the best person for the job regardless of their sex. </my opinion>

re:If men would stop being so focused on the numbers and allow for equality to work its magic

You brought up the 50% number - how is it you think numbers are key in one part of the discussion but not others - sort of selective don't you think.

re:Did you know that the decades-long, sizeable gap between girls and boys in math and science has narrowed....that girls are competing in those areas almost on par with the boys?

Girls have always scored higher than boys until high school and then things begin to change the other way.

re:Men have to take the same interest in their sons that women have taken with their daughters.

Should I express outrage at the condemnation you just made towards men? You said some crap to me about the my statement women are more likely to stay home and nurture and raise children than men and therefore I assume the work force will never reach parity.
