The Patriot Act is reasonable only if used reasonably. Remember, J. Edgar Hoover, Nixon and many others have used such methods, legal or illegal, against their own personal political foes, sometimes to cover up crimes of their own. The Watergate burglary, for instance, or any break-in or abuse of power, could be excused as "going after suspected terrorists". Various peace groups have also been targeted. Peace groups as in very peaceful people. So beware, and don't be afraid to ask reasonable questions of authority. After all, Bush-Cheney have already proven a habit of abusing power.
