I wonder if Bush talked with Indian PM about making up with Iran. ------ India willing to mediate between Iran, US LONDON, July 23 (IranMania) - Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said in Washington this week that given the depth of India’s historic relations with Iran, New Delhi can help resolve the longtime differences between the Islamic Republic and the Untied States. On the last day of his important tour of the US, Singh told reporters that India has very deep bonds with Iran in view of the fact that it is home to the highest number of Shiites in the world after Iran and can hence play a positive role in helping forge proximity between Tehran and Washington, IRNA quoted the PTI as saying. The Indian leader expressed concern over the proliferation of nuclear weapons in Pakistan, which he described as “a serious threat to regional security“. He also referred to the role of terrorists and saboteurs in Pakistan in the last decade. “It is obvious that Osama bin Laden and Al-Qaeda members still have active bases in Pakistan and it is very likely that Islamic fighters would gain power in that country. It is an open secret that the Taliban is a byproduct of Pakistani radicalism.“ Singh warned about the dangers posed by Pakistan’s nuclear arsenals if President Pervez Musharraf leaves office. “There always exists the danger that radicals may take control of Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal,“ he stressed. According to PTI, Singh said his country wants a moderate Pakistan which is at peace with its neighbors.
