Are you telling me those Mausers really are valuable nowadays? My father had a couple of plaques from competitive successes attached onto the wooden part of it.
He kept it real well, it was in true mint condition and only had been fired 10-20 times ever after leaving the factory at Husqvarna in Southern Sweden.
The most stupid thing was, that my half brother living in Stockholm at the time of his death, being an officer of the Swedish military, could have kept the rifle.
He only needed to sign some docs. Unfortunately at the time he had no urge to preserve any legacy of his family.
Quite strange, but as he grew older he improved a little. Not enough to recover the Mauser though :)

Have a buddy in SJC who collects antique American side arms. Quite a collection. Such stuff tends to drive guys crazy, right? He spends a lot of time travelling to national gun auctions.
