WLD -

And speaking of this, I was just thinking ...

Unlike with music, the subscription model works very well for movies. Most people won't watch a movie more than once. (With the exception of children.)

I'd be willing to subscribe to a service that would allow me to download high-quality movies, even if it took a few hours to download each one. Such a service would compete well with the video rental store and Netflix models. I think the service could be priced below VOD, while still being profitable.

I'd have a Mac Mini (or similar device) attached to my stereo system, and could keep a few dozen movies on it at any one time. If I was out of room and needed to make space for a new movie, I could either delete one manually, or have the system do it automatically.

Yep. That would work for me.
