So far this morning... The police have confirmed that there was no bomb; no bomb belt; no wires hanging out. The winter coat has been downgraded to a padded coat. Addition: Which is now described as a padded blue fleece jacket. [Didn't check the weather in London yesterday but looking at the satellite imagery, it looks like it would be pretty close to the forecast for today ... at the moment... 58-69F; rain.] Addition: He was wearing a baseball cap which made him hard to identify. [Make a note to yourself: Don't wear a baseball cap.] Police have confirmed that he wasn't one of the 4 bombers they were looking for; Addition: he was an electrician from Brazil going to work. The individual had left a house that was under surveillance by the police. Change The individual had left a block/apartment complex that was under surveillance. [Make a note to yourself...never enter/leave an aparment comlex that is under surveillance.] The police chasing him with guns were plainsclothes police. [I'm not quite sure what I would do if a bunch of guys were running at me with guns yelling at me to stop. Addition: Plainsclothes police yelled at him to stop, but none of the witnesses reported hearing any warning. The picture is still fuzzy as to whether he was under control/subdued at the moment of the shooting. Addition: He fell to the ground looking like a frightened rabbit; officers pushed him to the floor and another officer pumped five bullets to the head.
