Why? It is not as if any nuclear power gives a hoot about their obligations under NPT. Even U.S, with all the nukes it already has feels the "need" to have "better" ones.

I haven't heard anything about France or England abrogating their responsibilities under the NPT. ... I also think it would be nice if the US dropped it's development program for a new nuke. Seems stupid to tell others to not develop nukes, when we're developing new ones.

Perhaps we'll have more lasting peace on earth if nukes were as widely spread as public schools.

Global MAD. Only works if all parties want to survive.
