Yes, Islam is not a religion of peace. Very far from it. The problem is that the tejeks and John Fowlers of the world make saying the truth so unpolitically correct, that we are now faced with a situation where we can't face our enemy directly. That is part of the problem. If Muslims were more willing to reform and modernize their religion, then we'd be much better off. Christiand faced this type of ideological dilemna many centuries ago and was able to grow out of it. Islam can't grow out of it because Muslims do not encourage dialogue around Islamic reform. Anyone who tries to reform Islam is labeled an apostate and a fatway is issued calling for their assassination. Then add globalization to the mix and no wonder Muslims are spreading their hate around the world today. It's like the modern world has come across a society completely stuck in the first millenium.
