Kerry was defending the troops against the insane policies of the Nixon WH, DOD and "burn down the hootches, kill the gooks" types. Not only out of control commanders like Admiral Hoffman but the armchair general draft-dodging Dick Cheney types who were orchestrating that insane, unwinnable war. Those policy-makers were Kerry's only target and he was 100% right. Those policy-makers who threw away the rules of engagement and made huge areas of Vietnam free fire zones.

Know what that means? It means the troops were green-lighted to shoot anything that moved including women, children, village centers and animals, and they were also dropping Agent Orange over everything which killed the environment and poisoned our troops too. Plus the murderous Phoenix Program and the numerous My Lai type massacres.

What Kerry did by exposing the ugly side of the war was that he ended the war earlier and saved thousands of lives. He was a hero to help end that war. This helped America. And it was very painful for him to do this. Plus he made very powerful enemies including Nixon. Kerry stood up for what was right. When has Bush ever done that?

BTW: Nixon's Rove type Charles Colson later apologized to Kerry for smearing him. Now when will the smearvets and Bushies apologize to Kerry?
