Laser Industries Announces FDA Clearance Granted for Hair Removal Ruby Laser with Fiber Delivery System
TEL AVIV, Israel, Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Laser Industries, Ltd. (Nasdaq-NNM:LASRF) announced today that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted marketing clearance for a new version of its EpiTouch long- pulse ruby laser hair removal system.
The new system differs from the Company's existing EpiTouch system in that it possesses a fiberoptic delivery system rather than an articulated arm. While the articulated arm version of the EpiTouch possesses a dual mode capability for both hair and tattoo removal, the new fiber delivery system addresses that portion of the market dedicated solely to hair removal.
The Company expects to begin shipment of the new product to U.S. customers later this month. The new version will enhance the line of hair removal products offered in the U.S. by Sharplan 2000, Inc., a 50 percent owned joint venture.
The EpiTouch ruby laser systems augment Laser Industries Sharplan SilkLaser aesthetic product line which includes its CO2 skin resurfacing systems for lines, wrinkles, scars and hair transplantation and its new Erbium laser system.
Laser Industries Ltd. is a worldwide leader in the design, manufacturing, marketing and servicing of a broad range of aesthetic and surgical laser systems for use in a variety of medical applications. Laser Industries markets more than 20 laser systems under the Sharplan trade name. More information on Laser Industries and Sharplan can be found on the Company's website, sharplan.com.
