I recently listened to a couple of broadcast by Bob Brinker. I noticed that he does not advocate people purchasing stocks on margin yet I've heard him telling homeowners not to payoff a 7.5% mortgage; since it was an attractive loan and instead use their excess funds to build an stock portfolio. I guess I don't understand what the difference is in leveraging an equity portfolio to buy equities and leveraging your home to buy equities. Any help would be appreciated
