I can't say I see much wisdom in our kings, captains, or masses...so if I were to play the odds I'd put money on you. But this is too important for us to just play the odds.

Your implicit suggestions here is the key to what is wrong with America today:

When country X runs out of fresh water and country Y to the north has water; country X will do whatever it needs to get that water.

Of course X is not going sit and allow itself to die of thirst. Nor should it. Such statements in America mean that we have thr right to nuke Canada to get water if we need it. And of course "need" is defined as "inconvinient compared to invasion".

But what would it have do if it was 1/10th the size of Y and had no military advantage? Before it decides to launch suicide attacks to force the issue, it would explore so many venues that are likely to produce results, albeit with some sacrifice to "our way of life".

I am saying those options should be explored before the military "option".
