re: It sort of sounds like a good idea - people should only be able to pass on their heirs the wealth that they create in their lifetime, not the wealth that they did nothing to earn other than be born. Surprisingly, it does make some common sense. Maybe they get taxed the base; if they managed to make money with the money they inherited, they keep the increased portion of the wealth. John
