People want SUV's but in recent years they have had to increase regulation for safety. People want sports cars but for many years the regulations have had to change for safety. In the same way, we can (and are even starting to) produce these cars with much better fuel mileage. Nobody says you outlaw large cars, but they are going to cost more unless the auto industry can figure a way to get better mileage. And if they get remarkably better mileage they will be subsidized.

You seem to grudgingly support current regulation and tax incentives but object to ones that favor fuel efficiency. Are you against improving fuel efficiency or do you just like to argue with everything I suggest?
