Kerry earned his Silver Star with outstandiong courage.
The ABC crew which went to the village where Kerry saved his boatmates and won a Silver Star interviewed the villagers and found out the following:

- The man Kerry killed was VC and 23 years old, not a "kid" as smearvets claim
- He was armed with a B-40 rocket at the time just as the records say, not "unarmed" as smearvets claim
- Kerry leapt into the brush where he knew he might have been ambushed by others, risking his life (courage not cowardice)
- Kerry's bravery saved his boatmates (as all his boatmates agree with)

The village man also told ABC that several anti-Kerry vets had visited the hamlet earlier and had been qasking questions, hoping to get negative responses about Kerry to defame him. They got the truth and were not happy. They went back to the states and told lies anyway. Those two men were involved with the smearvets. It is also weird that they were able to get permission to go to this remote village. They would have had to get sp[ecial help from the US embassy, which brings up the prospect of Bushies getting them permissions. Bushies working with smearvets of course. And when they found out the truth they lied anyway.
