The statement named five of those involved in the Taba attacks as Iyad the Palestinian, Suleiman Fulayfel, Hamad al-Tirbani, Mohammed Badawi and Salamah al-Tihi, saying they had all been killed.
Egyptian police have identified Fulayfel as one of two bombers who drove a rigged car into a Taba hotel and was killed when he failed to get away in time.
"We did not announce these details previously because of our security situation," said the group.
"But we are now in a better position and we can also claim our second operation in Sharm el-Sheikh, which we picked to challenge the tyrants of the security forces."
