"The threshold for civil war in Iraq will be crossed when...."

I saw a US General (military intelligence) on FOX News yesterday say that "95% of the insurgents in Iraq are Sunni Iraqis, and the remaining 5% are imported radicals/jihadists... mostly fellow Sunnis, and predominently from neighboring Arab nations --- Saudi Arabia, Syria, Jordan, Gulf States, Egypt, etc."

He also said that "since 95% of the insurgents are native Iraqi Sunnis, mostly what is being supplied from neighboring countries is CASH... in nearly endless amounts." The insurgency has no significant problems with funding or resupply... and many of the remaining "5%", the non-Iraqi jihadists are being paid, and paid well, to go to Iraq and fight.

Sounds to me like that 'threshold for civil war' has already been crossed, and the Iraqi Civil War is well and truly underway now.

Time for politicians in Washington to face the facts, quit dissembling, and start getting *smarter* and trickier with their policies.

Denying reality, and sticking their heads in the sand and pretending, is not likely to ever be effective policy.
