If you read a little more of the English translations of Arabic newspapers, TV, and clerical and Arab official speeches, you'd be amazed at what the amount of hate, incitement towards violence, and support of suicide bombing as a way of jihad is supported within the Muslim world.

So just because you don't know about it, doesn't mean it is not going on. You must have missed the fatwah Osama was able to get out of a popular cleric condoning the mass killings of Western civilians.
