Reading the infamous "Alanco Letter" left me, among other things, with more questions than answers. After owning this stock for so long I have learned not to take anything, especially company releases, at face value. So I decided a call was in order to PNM.A to get their version of the Fry Guy success story. The IR guy was extremely courteous, informative and positive about their Perfect Fryer. Less so about ALAN. I was unaware of this, but it seems in the early days ALAN had an exclusive distributorship for the Perfect Fryer in the US, subject to meeting certain sales criteria. They didn't, and subsequently lost their "exclusive". Today Perfect Fryers are sold through a dealer-distributor network with territories. ALAN sells to Wal-Mart and little else, at least presently. ALAN Letter-Q. How many Fry Guy units are in service at this time? A. Fry Guy units are being installed at a record pace. According to PNM.A IR Perfect Fry sales to ALAN have been insignificant the last two to three months. Perhaps ALAN management
has good reason to classify number of units in service as proprietary. IR also indicated they felt that current ALAN management was more concerned with the food supply side than Perfect Fry sales. The curious part about this is that its possible to make so much money off these things you would think they would realize more Fry Guys equate to more food sales.
