I don't know where you heard that but it isn't true. The terrorists are mostly extremist Wahabi Muslims (suni) who are bombing innocent people who (mostly) represent Shi'ite political power. They have expressed no premise of freeing the Shi'ites from Americans. They have expressed their desire to rule a fascist theocracy and to destroy or conquer, not free, other populations in Iraq.
