I believe that currencies can only be manipulated short term.
Same way with deflation issues (how hard did Japan try and produce inflation? Did it ever work?).

Perhaps your timing is off.
Interest rates are hiking in the US and the rest of the world economy sucks. The UK is about ready to cut and Japan is back in a recession.

Those interest rates differentials are going to support the US$ and I have been saying that ever since we saw the cover of Newsweek "The incredible Shrinking dollar".

Russ's viewpoint may be entirely different but that is mine and has been mine since March (just in case you are interested , if not disregard)
