I think you have missed the thread of discussion around nuking Mecca. That discussion wasn't about spontaneously bombing Mecca right now. Rather, it was a discussion on Tancredo's comments and the validity/effectiveness of using a THREAT to nuke Mecca as one option to create a deterrent effect. My position is that it is something that might work. Others think it is lunacy. Most people jumped on me immediately saying I was off the deep edge, but I for one don't hide behind political correctness. We need to talk about all options. And if we make it known that if we are attacked with WMD by Muslim terrorists, then we'll nuke Mecca and other Muslim sacred lands in the Middle East, then perhaps that will provide a deterrent to the use of WMD on us. In addition, it provides us with a way to pressure those countries that sponsor and support terrorists such as Saudi Arabia and Iran to do something about the terrorists in their midsts, if for no other reason, then for their own self-preservation.
