I'd say our defeat in Somalia was a great recruiting tool, because it demonstrated to the terrorists America's "cut-n-run" attitude.

And let's not forget the multiple times Osama struck and killed American citizens without any response from Clinton. (Cruise missiles hitting empty tents don't count.) Talk about more encouraging developments for the terrorists.

But the best weapon is the loss of the moral high ground...not only in the eyes of the terrorists, but worldwide...invade a country on false pretense, lie about the intel we had, put it in the state of the union address to the nation, ruthlessly discredit those who would tell the truth, expose their kin as "fair game", cause the death of thousands in the process, mire the nation into a quagmire that will last for decades...oh, and stand on the deck of a carrier and proudly announce, like an oblivious dufus, that "mission is accomplished"...obl is smiling in the mountains of pakistan knowing that the real "mission accomplished" is his.
