Britain and other such countries have long enjoyed a less murderous method of handling fleeing criminals and others than shooting them on the spot.

I know the movies say "Freeze! Police! Stick 'em up" and they drill them if they move a muscle. The USA does that too. That's up to them.

Britain has burbled on about their way of life remaining unchanged. That's untrue. Olde time British will recognize a LOT of changes.

It's not the quiet and pleasant land of yore, with genteel queues and high tea.
