Vietnam was ugly because we were there. East/West German unification makes for a good analogy to Korea. There's no need for 101 US military bases in South Korea, in fact, we do not need even one base there or any other foreign country. Bring our troops home, all of them, and close all 725 disclosed bases plus the secret ones such as the 6 in Israel.
