I believe it indicates that the Arab countries (Sunni, all) are not about to accept the existence of a Shi'a controlled Iraq without a fight --- perhaps a very LONG fight.

After all, the Sunni/Shi'a conflict has been unresolved for centuries.

Many of their more extreme religious elements (such as the Saudi Wh'abbists) hate in *this* order: 1) Shiites and or 'non-believers' 2) Jews 3) Christians ('Crusaders').

The Jews and Christians ('people of The Book', i.e., mentioned in the Kuran, and sharing the Old Testiment) are seen as less of a religious threat... while the Shiites are apostates, 'corrupters of the pure religion' and 'spawn of the Devil' and the greatest hatred and opposition is reserved for them.

If you are thinking that Sunni and Shi'a religious fundamentalists are going to start holding hands anytime soon, you'd better start thinking again. Until/unless an Islamic Reformation sweeps through their world, or until/unless secularism reigns, the Sunnis and Shi'a will remain in opposition.
