There was no evidence of a threat - period. I am not doing the revising here -- it is you. Germany, France, Russia, China and most of the world saw nothing that would even begin to rise to the threshold of a threat that would justify an invasion. Inspections were ongoing and they had in the past proven to be extraordinarily effective -- as we now know they were even more effective than anybody could have hoped. And they were filling the intel gap created by their absence for a couple of years. We had US scaremongering -- Powell and his disgraceful description of a truck trailer that he alleged must be a mobile weapons lab for example, and comments by Rice about tubes that nobody with any knowldege of them would support as accurately described as designed for a centrifuge -- and we had to endure it all, all the hubris, chest thumping, arrogance and propaganda -- all of which you now claim was the fault of somebody else rather than the snivelling politicians and hangers on that advanced their careers and pet ideological experiments at the expense of the national security of the United States and the lives of fine young Americans.
