Teresa Heinz-Kerry: Not Paying Her Fair Share of Taxes
Late as they may be, Teresa Heinz-Kerry released (only a portion of) her tax returns last night.

According to the tax returns, she reported $5.1 million in income... But, only $2.3 million of that income was actually taxed. Why? Because her assets are "are roughly split between low-yielding, tax-free bonds and dividend-paying stocks."

Democrats will tell you that John Kerry's wife paid 27% of her income to taxes. This is misleading. Only $2.8 million of her $5.1 million income was actually taxed. While she may have paid 27% of that portion of her income to taxes, she only paid 12.7% of her total income to taxes.

John Kerry, while going around the country telling America that the rich aren't paying their fair share of taxes, doesn't himself pay his fair share of taxes, nor doesn't his wife. John Kerry and his wife use loopholes to pay less in taxes instead of willingly paying their fair share. They pay a smaller percentage of their income to taxes than I do. George and Laura Bush pay 30.4% of their income to taxes. Why do the far richer Kerry/Heinz-Kerry duo pay only 12.8%?
