Been meaning to ask this about iran elections. Democratic they probably werent but it seems that iranians made a bet on someone who is pereceived as honest, albeit orthodox, as opposed to that crook rafsanjani or that last chicken reformer who got the boot. Iranian students too much like their representative here on SI--too much espresso and wine, not enough guts and determination. They TALK a good game like the Ambassador here but they whimper and whine when the going gets tough unlike the Ukranians and other east euro students. What do you think prospects are under this new regime as much as the new regime can be independent of the corrupt mullocracy???? Can this turn out to be the iranian version of nixon goes to china???
