Just in case there was any confusion over terminology, the displays they describe are electroluminescent. A phosphor is excited by an alternating electric field. This differs somewhat from an LED or OLED (light emitting diode or organic light emitting diode).

The effectiveness of their color EL displays will depend largely on the colors and efficiencies of their three phosphors. I haven't seen a good blue from an EL display, but maybe they have one. In order to make a wide range of colors, the three phosphors should each emit pure colors near the corners of the CIE color diagram.....hmmm can't find that diagram right now...
