Wow, the Indians are a ponzi scheme and the brilliant Euro's and Japanese are 'out in front' looking at an aging environment.

Life in general is a ponzi scheme, a casual understanding of biology has made that clear for over 150 years.

Just 4 decades ago brilliant Chinese central planners engineered a 27% drop in GDP in one year.

I don't think those guys are still running the show. Could you comment on the last two decades of Chinese economic performance vs any other sizeable country you have in mind?

At least Japan and Europe have a social safety net, they just don't know how to fund it mid century.

Neither do we know how to fund ours. But a common argument is the ponzi scheme, population growth either through higher birth rates or more immigration. Both approaches are aimed at more workers shorter term, and regrettably, more retires longer terms, where more population growth is needed to deal with the delayed problem. If you can can provide any reasoned explanation for why this is not a ponzi scheme, I would love to read it.

but a negative demographic trend is evidence of a failed society.

I'd agree if it were constant, but I doubt they are. A few generations of slightly negative is not going to cause any major depopulation anywhere I know.
